Located in Castle Peak Peninsula, Jade Grove comprises 76 house units and 15 houses in a European hilltop village layout, the tree-lined walkway leading to the main central square and accessing the garden and swimming pool, with Club Jade located right in the centre of the project.
More than 30% of the entire site is covered by greenery and water features demonstrating the dedication to the project’s environmental protection aspect. Thanks to this, Jade Grove has been recognised by the authoritative local organization, the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC), with a Final Platinum Rating of BEAM Plus New Buildings V1.1 in Hong Kong; only the third residential project in Hong Kong to have attained this highest rating.
The passive design of Jade Grove combines the three energy-saving characteristics of ventilation, insulation and shading, where comfort and energy-saving are achieved through planting, ventilation and the use of natural light.
The overall design makes use of the southerly wind in the summer and Hong Kong’s general southeasterly wind. Coupled with the buildings’ orientation, appropriate distance between buildings and bi-directional windows, the ventilation route allows the seasonal wind to flow throughout Jade Grove ensuring residents enjoy natural breezes.
The project is designing to take advantage of the light from the south and the north to reduce the heat load caused by sun exposure from the west. High performance low-e glass is used throughout the whole project to make use of natural light and reduce solar heat gain, preventing heat and stuffiness.
Some of Jade Grove’s many green measures include:
Recycling facilities for metal, plastic, paper, cardboard and glass bottles have been provided
The indoor air quality meets the "Good Class" standards of the Indoor Air Quality Objective set by the Environmental Protection Department
