Overall Score

CLP Power’s Shing Kai Road (SKR) Substation is a 132/11kV transmission substation which will provide reliable electricity supply to the Kai Tak Redevelopment area. As a former airport site, Kai Tak is going to be redeveloped into an urban oasis for the sustainable livings of people. Echoing the people-centric development strategy of Kai Tak, SKR Substation is developed with a green and sustainable approach to blend in the neighbourhood environment.
The substation with one building block of two storeys and extensive soft landscapes improves the streetscape and micro-climate nearby. Advanced technologies are applied to enhance the project development so that SKR Substation is more environmentally friendly to people within and outside the substation during the entire project lifecycle. Green construction practices are implemented to reduce the construction wastes. People-centric design approach is adopted to enhance the safety and efficiencies of the future operations and maintenance activities.
